Our next project for art and design will be a painting in the style of Iyvind Earle. He uses many solid colored backgrounds or a blended background then adds a horizon line and mostly black areas for trees. When he has all these basic flat shapes painted in he then adds layers of colorful dots to create the depth and movement in his piece. He normally will paint a landscape and he sometimes will do a single tree. In a previous art class we had a similar assignment which was to copy one of his paintings however this time we get to create our own which is inspired by his style. To do this we will need to use certain techniques such as working with lighter colors to darker colors then working with very large unspecific shapes to very detailed dots.
