Today we were assigned our first project for art and design. The assignment is to use lines to create movement. This means using simple lines to show space, depth, and movment. we were shown some examples that range from simple (using only seperate line) to complex (using many overlapping lines making forms). We are to use the shading, the positions, and the layering of our lines to create the feelining of movement in our piece. So, I start running ideas through my head... I need to create movement... so what line moves...ok easier question how do I create space... I can use depth... So to create depth I can... layer my lines, use a darker line in front of a lighter line to create an overlap. That gives the effect of one line being in front of the other and createing a 3d space on 2d paper. Ok so, there is one idea so I can start with that. Now I need a sort of design... I rather enjoy sun rays so why not go off that. So, those overlapping line will create depth and therefore will show the lines moving through the space. They will move from the back to the front of my paper.
